Biography

As a Research Fellow at the CHPPE, Susan (BA, BSW, GradDipEval, MA(Applied Social Research, PhD) has been involved in the evaluation of the Southern Health Primary Medical Care Trial, The After Hours Primary Medical Care Trial and is currently working on the evaluation of the Australian Government’s Dementia Initiative.  Susan’s major area of expertise is in the implementation of complex evaluations of government health policy initiatives and she is particularly interested in the difficulties associated with health service delivery in rural and remote areas.  Her PhD thesis looked at the role of financial remuneration in GPs’ practice location decisions and whether or not GP remuneration could be used a policy lever to overcome the longstanding uneven geographic distribution of GPs.
