Biography

Terry James is currently working as a project/research officer for the Centre for Excellence in Indigenous Tobacco Control which includes nationwide consultation (s) with Indigenous Health Workers around tobacco control issues. She will also be undertaking a PhD with Onemda VicHealth Koori Health Unit looking at workplace stress and coping for the Indigenous health workforce. Terry’s most recent work has been with the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation providing a coordination/support role for the Aboriginal Health Promotion and Chronic Care Partnership.

Other work has included various project, policy and executive support work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission.  She has also worked as a Disability Worker/Carer and in various roles in adult education.

Terry has been awarded a BBSc (Hons) in Psychology and is nearing completion of a BA in Community Development.
