Britt Johnson is a Research Fellow at the McCaughey Centre involved in a range of research projects in the area of childhood obesity prevention. Current projects include the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden project and the Fun n’ Healthy in Moreland project.
Britt completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Health Promotion and Nutrition) and Honours (School of Health and Social Development) at Deakin University. Under the supervision of Dr. Peter Kremer and Dr. Andrea Sanigorski, Britt conducted a quantitative secondary analysis of Australia’s community-based child obesity prevention project, ‘Be Active, Eat Well’. Specifically, this involved the application of multilevel analytical techniques to determine the effect of obesity-related behavioural and environmental factors on the change in body mass index z-score (z-BMI) while exploring the multiple levels of influence.
Enthusiastic and dedicated to public health research, Britt is an active member of the Public Health Association of Australia and the Victorian Health Promotion Network. Britt has also previously worked as a private health promotion consultant.
