Biography

Dr Robson is a Research Fellow at the McCaughey Centre with a background in history, social research and government policy. She has published in the history of mental health, and psychiatry and her PhD was a biography of the psychiatrist Eric Cunningham Dax. She has written the history of the Cunningham Dax Collection: Art, Creativity and Mental Health, and has an interest in the history and evolving ideas of mental health promotion, arts and healing. Her other main research interests relate to growth corridors, young people and climate change, as well as narratives of place, meaning and spiritual identity. Belinda worked for many years in the non-government sector and government on psychiatric disability, family violence and victims support issues, and is a member of the Professional Historians Association of Victoria.
