| Biography |
Tricia has extensive administration experience in the higher education sector, having held positions of Account Manager in the Faculty of Art, Design and Communications, and Administrative Office Manager in the School of Art and Culture, at RMIT. This was followed by a contract position as Administrative Officer in the University of Melbourne’s University Systems Project unit. In 2002, Tricia joined the Arts Centre as Administrator in the Collections and Exhibitions Unit, for three years. More recently she worked at Monash University, the greater part of this being as Administrative Officer in the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Art and Design.
A common thread to these appointments was their community service orientation generally located within artistic and cultural environments. As such they proved to be an ongoing source of stimulation and engagement.
Tricia saw the position in the McCaughey centre as providing a logical extension of her experience within a cultural component of the University where the staff were specifically engaged in research dissemination and community engagement. She saw the McCaughey Centre as being research intensive, connecting with people and society, and dealing with an expanded overview of community requirements beyond the concerns and observations expressed through the visual and performing arts disciplines.
