Master of Public Health

Those applicants applying for Advanced Standing in the Master of Public Health MUST provide one WRITTEN reference using the form provided below:

Please Note:  students who are not eligible for Advanced Standing do not need to provide any references.

Advanced standing (also known as credit) is points granted towards the degree for work experience gained prior to entry into the course. In the Master of Public Health you may be granted:

  • up to 25 Points of Advanced Standing if you have a minimum of two years’ documented health related work experience; or
  • up to 50 Points of Advanced Standing if you have a minimum of two years’ documented public health related work experience.
Examples of health and public health related work experience are as follows:

Nurse, doctor, allied health professional, psychologist public health systems, private health system or primary care (locally or internationally)
Public health related work experience:
Health research, health

All Other Courses

Applicants applying for any Course (offered by the Melbourne School of Population Health) other than the Master of Public Health MUST provide a total of two WRITTEN references.  This can be either academic or professional or a combination of both:

  2. Professional Referee Report
